NSW launches first Digital Inclusion Strategy

Today, the NSW Government has released its first Digital Inclusion Strategy, led by the Hon. Jihad Dib, MP, Minister for Customer Service and Digital Government — a key step toward making sure no one is left behind in our increasingly digital world.

In his foreword, the Minister makes it clear: access to the internet and digital services is no longer a luxury — it’s a necessity. From education and employment to health care and essential services, our ability to participate fully in society increasingly depends on being connected, confident and safe online.

The Strategy focuses on five areas that shape digital inclusion:
Connectivity, Affordability, Digital Ability, Accessibility, and Digital Trust and Safety.

At the Connectivity Innovation Network, we welcome this important development. The Strategy aligns closely with CIN’s work — supporting practical, community-focused solutions that respond to real-world challenges, especially in regional and remote parts of NSW. It also echoes a key recommendation from our white paper, Towards Ubiquitous Connectivity in Australia: that meaningful inclusion must be a policy priority.

We look forward to continuing our work alongside government, industry and local communities to build a more inclusive, resilient and digitally connected NSW.
