Genie Tan joins Comms Connect 2025 to share insights on innovation and inclusion in critical communications

Connectivity Innovation Network Chief Operating Officer Genie Tan will take to the stage at Comms Connect 2025 in Melbourne on Wednesday, 15 October, to discuss how technological innovation can enhance public safety and disaster resilience in Australia.

In her presentation, “Developing technically innovative solutions for public safety and disaster resilience”, Genie will explore how cross-sector collaboration and innovation networks like CIN are driving advancements in connectivity to support first responders and critical infrastructure operators.

Later in the day, Genie will join the event’s first ever Women in critical communications – progress with purpose panel alongside Telstra’s Natalie Kolodziej (moderator), AMTA CEO Louise Hyland, P25 Technology Interest Group board member Cheryl Giggetts, ACCF Chair Bidar Homsey and NSW Telco Authority’s Executive Director of Emergency Management Rania Wannous.

The panel will explore the evolving roles of women in the critical communications industry, an area that has traditionally been male-dominated but is now benefiting from a more diverse range of leaders and perspectives.
