Warriewood Beach completes coastal LAWIFI rollout as public Wi-Fi goes live across all sites

Warriewood Beach has joined Garie Beach and Wattamolla Beach, with free public Wi-Fi now available across all three of CIN’s coastal LAWIFI trial sites.

These locations have historically experienced patchy mobile coverage. Coastal terrain, distance from infrastructure and seasonal demand all contribute to inconsistent connectivity, creating challenges for both operations and public access. The Rapidly Deployable Large Area Wi-Fi system (LAWIFI) was developed specifically to address these conditions.

Since December 2025, the system has supported Surf Life Saving NSW with reliable connectivity, enabling communication and assisting in the identification and monitoring of incidents such as near-drownings and shark sightings.

With all three sites now accessible to the public, visitors can connect in areas where coverage has traditionally been limited. The trials continue to provide practical insight into how deployable connectivity can support both operational teams and public use across coastal environments.
